This is a view of the wreck of the French ship Le Droits D' Homme. The location is near the Penmarks, on the Coast of France. January 14th 1797.
After fighting hard for 10 hours, with the Indefatigable & Amazon frigates, the Amazon was also wrecked a few hours after. The crew was saved. August 21, 1797, John Fairburn
